About Las Animas Prevention Partners (LACC)

Las Animas County Prevention Partners is empowering our youth to make positive life choices through education and role modeling.

LACPP is an active partner in the community by providing educational opportunities and activities to encourage creativity, health and vitality in our youth.

The LACPP with the direction of the coalition has funded such projects as an evidenced based prevention curriculum for Las Animas County Schools and developed Organized Youth Against the Influence (OYAI), a youth group with a focus on prevention activities.  OYAI is moving forward on such endeavors as an in school creative mentoring project that will focus on skill building and decision making skills.  We are also designing a version of a Teen Maze (through grant dollars from the Colorado Department of Education), that will include community wide collaboration, sharing of assets and resources, and bring the overall community togheter for a positive educational experience for our youth.

The LACPP is partnering with such organizations as the Trinidad State Junior College, The Trinidad Area Arts Council, The Colorado Workforce Center, Las Animas County Rocky Mountain SER, Juvenile Diversion Program, Junveile Probation, the Trinidad Community Center and many more.
