RSAPP AmeriCorps
The Regional Substance Abuse Prevention Partners bring together community anti-drug coalitions and community organizations in southwest Colorado to facilitate regional substance abuse prevention through the Strategic Prevention Framework, including: needs assessment, capacity building, planning, implementation and evaluation.
The RSAPP/AmeriCorps Program is an AmeriCorps*State program. As part of the Corporation for National and Community Service, AmeriCorps provides opportunities that engage thousands of Americans in intensive service to meet critical community needs. RSAPP’s AmeriCorps members have committed to serve their communities for one year, acting as Community Prevention Organizers at Site Partner organizations located throughout Southwest Colorado. Each AmeriCorps Community Prevention Organizer implements, develops and enhances current projects while increasing organizational capacity and sustainability.
RSAPP has the long-term goal of decreasing youth substance abuse in the Southwest Colorado. RSAPP's regional network of community programs work towards this goal by reducing risk factors and increasing protective factors for our region's youth.
RSAPP promotes regional collaboration while supporting programs and solutions that are customized for each of the communities it serves.
