Major Goals

Establish and strength collaboration among Alamosa County non-profit agencies, Federal, State and local governments to support the efforts of community coalitions to prevent and reduce substance use/abuse among youth.

Sustain ATOD (alcohol, tobacco and other drugs) prevention efforts by providing training, securing funds to ensure sustainability and recruiting new members.

Work on community policy to increase barriers to accessing tobacco, alcohol and marijuana.

Provide education on substance use in our community through social marketing campaigns for students and parents/caregivers.

Data is collected through the Healthy Kids Colorado Survey, parent surveys, etc. These data are used to inform local decisions about the direction of community prevention efforts.

Collaborate with both Trinidad State Junior College and Adams State College in prevention efforts for young adults.
